So Have You Guys Seen the “Creepy” Theology Expert for FOX News

August 7, 2008

So ya I was watching FOX (don’t ask me why cause I couldn’t tell ya) and they had their favorite “theologian” come on to address the issue of candidate flip flopping. While clearly this issue falls directly inline with any ordained Priest’s realm of expertise, I couldn’t help but notice just how creepy Father Jonathon Morris really is.

FOX Continues to Back Phil Gramm’s Statement: Hannity Proclaims “Maybe We are a Bunch of Whiners”

July 13, 2008

It looks as though the good people over at FOX News have been assigned their talking points regarding how they cover former Senator Phil Gramm’s controversial remarks claiming that the recession “was purely mental”, and that American’s have become a “bunch of whiners”. Fred Barnes kicked off the cheer leading for FOX while appearing on Brit Hume’s program two days ago, and last night FOX’s leading ignoramus Sean Hannity joined on the “support Gramm, bash American’s” bandwagon.

FOX’s Fred Barnes Agrees w/Phil Gramm: “Hypocrisy is Alive & Well”

July 12, 2008

The often dim-witted and out of touch, Fred Barnes, of FOX News was on Brit Hume’s round table yesterday and well – pretty much agreed with everything, and I mean everything, former Senator Phil Gramm said earlier this week about American’s being in a “mental recession”, and that we as a nation have become nothing but a pack of “whiners”. With McCain quickly backtracking from the statement, and the majority of the GOP running for the hills away from Gramm’s statement – the almighty Fred Barnes seems to see it for what it really is – “straight talk.”

Come Again? What Did Jesse Jackson Say?

July 10, 2008

Yesterday we covered the poignant comments made by a certain Jesse Jackson in which he used some colorful language when discussing Barack Obama. All of this took place while he was mic’d up, however Jackson was under the impression they weren’t on TV or being recorded. SURPRISE!

However the fun really started when rival news stations began reporting the story, or attempted to report the story I should say. 236.com has captured the beautiful awkwardness of watching every cable news anchor struggle to explain the story without being able to say one specific word in a delightful little vignette which is attached below.

What Makes FOX News Tick: The Bad, the Worse & the Ugly

July 6, 2008

FOX News is a lot of things to a lot of people. Some will tell you that it is their favorite news network, and that it is all the others that are bias in their reporting, not FOX. Then there are those like myself who feel as though FOX is the poster child of what is wrong with our mainstream media. The frame, fix, and put their own polish on the news opposed simply reporting it – which in all reality is their job, if they want to claim to be a legitimate news agency. It’s this split in opinion that makes the latest New York Times article which dissects the inside operations of FOX News that much more interesting.

Allan Colmes Shreds Karl Rove Over Gitmo: The Aftermath Includes Tears & Tantrum

July 4, 2008

Watch FOX’s Allan Colmes, one half of the widely popular “Hannity and Colmes” teach Karl Rove a lesson as though he was a dog who just peed on the new carpet. Personally I have always liked Colmes, and given the circumstances he is forced to work under night after night (the unfair balance of “liberal” and “conservative” guests, amongst many other improprieties), I don’t think he gets close to the credit he deserves for being the ONLY democrat minded talent on all of the FOX News network. ensue

Little baby Rove becomes so disgruntled that not only does he fail to make anything resembling a valid point, but also throws a temper tantrum which sheds a little light on how this guy really works in real life – ya know, when not in front of a camera, or standing next to the President during a photo op.

Here’s the video, hope ya enjoy it as much as I did:

FOX Stoops to a New Low: Caught Photo-shopping Images of Their Critics

July 4, 2008

Media Matters reports that on the July 2nd edition of MSNBC’s “Verdict with Dan Abrams“, host Dan Abrams asserted that Fox News “really outdid themselves this morning” – a reference to the July 2 edition of “Fox News’ Fox & Friends“, which, as Media Matters for America documented, featured photos of New York Times reporter Jacques Steinberg and editor Steven Reddicliffe that appeared to have been digitally altered. Specifically, the journalists’ teeth had been yellowed, their facial features exaggerated, and Reddicliffe’s hairline receded. Fox News gave no indication that the photos had been altered at the time.

Michael Dukakis – Yes, Dukakis – Takes This Conservative to School…

July 4, 2008

All I have to say about this video clip is, “where the hell was this version of Michale Dukakis when he was running for the Presidency?” Watch as Sean Hannity’s “fill in”, Michael Steele, gets absolutely shredded by none other then 1988 Democratic Presidential nominee Michael Dukakis.

The topic is more or less centered on the “labeling” of candidates, an issue that apparently is near and dear to Michael Steele, the guy who pretty much refused to even so much as mention the fact he was a republican on his campaign website – a race that he went on to get steamrolled.

Anyways, here is the video. I think you will find yourself somewhat surprised at the verbal and intellectual smack down he manages to lay on Michael Steele:

STEELE: Well, I think it’s important. Labels mean things.

DUKAKIS: But wait a second, look at the country’s fiscal condition today. When Bill Clinton left office, we’re on our way to the elimination of the national debt. Remember?

STEELE: I do.

DUKAKIS: Now we have a national debt that is double what it was when George Bush took office and it’s going to be our kids and grandkids that will have to pay it off. What is conservative about that? Now Obama is a guy who believes you gotta pay your bills. I happen to believe you gotta pay your bills.

STEELE: Yeah, but he wants to pay‚ he wants to pay everybody else’s bills with my money!

DUKAKIS: I think that’s a rather conservative position. But don’t tell me‚ of course, it’s our money, but it’s also our Social Security, it’s also our roads

STEELE: No, its my money. It’s not our money, it’s my money.

DUKAKIS: Well, it’s your money, but it’s also your country and it’s your kids and your grandkids.

STEELE: That’s right.

Rush Limbaugh Doesn’t Think Much of Fellow Wingnut Bill O’Reilly

July 2, 2008

This weeks New York Times Magazine front page story goes behind the scenes with infamous talk show pundit, and republican icon, Rush Limbaugh. Aside from the interview being quite interesting as a whole, I was struck by something Limbaugh said about halfway through – that well, is in my opinion the first intelligent thing the man has ever said.

Welcome to “Hack Reporting 101″: Prof. O’Reilly Will Now Begin…

June 25, 2008

Here is one of the more amusing Bill O’Reilly video clips, although I am not sure anything could top his “Inside Edition” meltdown which so many of us enjoyed watching repeatedly. However this one is pretty damn good too, mainly because it focuses on O’Reilly’s absolute inability to grasp the reality of what he’s trying to report, as well as highlight how venomously partisan he really is.
