Well, it looks like the hologram reporter on CNN reported in the earlier post was all smoke and mirrors.
Its been revealed that the image was just a 2 dimensional image superimposed onto the screen.
CNN debuts hologram reporters
November 5, 2008
CNN viewers saw double on Tuesday when the cable news giant used a hologram to “beam up” a reporter from Chicago to New York for election analysis.
Like a character out of the science fiction movie Star Wars, veteran political anchor Wolf Blitzer used a 3D hologram system to correspondent Jessica Yellin into his studio.
“It’s Almost Like They Take Pride in Being Ignorant”: Obama Strikes Back
August 5, 2008
This is the Barack Obama that Democrats, and more importantly - this country needs. Of course I am referring to Obama’s firing back of sorts during a campaign stop in Berea, Ohio. Barack Obama seemingly had heard enough, over the last week we have been inundated with a steady stream of garbage courtesey of the new and not so improved McCain/Rove machine.
Come Again? What Did Jesse Jackson Say?
July 10, 2008
Yesterday we covered the poignant comments made by a certain Jesse Jackson in which he used some colorful language when discussing Barack Obama. All of this took place while he was mic’d up, however Jackson was under the impression they weren’t on TV or being recorded. SURPRISE!
However the fun really started when rival news stations began reporting the story, or attempted to report the story I should say. 236.com has captured the beautiful awkwardness of watching every cable news anchor struggle to explain the story without being able to say one specific word in a delightful little vignette which is attached below.
What Makes FOX News Tick: The Bad, the Worse & the Ugly
July 6, 2008
FOX News is a lot of things to a lot of people. Some will tell you that it is their favorite news network, and that it is all the others that are bias in their reporting, not FOX. Then there are those like myself who feel as though FOX is the poster child of what is wrong with our mainstream media. The frame, fix, and put their own polish on the news opposed simply reporting it - which in all reality is their job, if they want to claim to be a legitimate news agency. It’s this split in opinion that makes the latest New York Times article which dissects the inside operations of FOX News that much more interesting.
The Always Incompetent Ben Ferguson Gets Picked Apart by Cenk Uygun of ‘The Young Turks’
July 3, 2008
The person I detest the most in this world has re-emerged, only to be verbally dismantled by Cenk Uygur of The Young Turks. Cenk and the astronomically ignorant Ben Ferguson, appeared on CNN to debate General Wesley Clark’s comments in regards to John McCain’s war experience not automatically making him qualified to be Commander in Chief, comments which have drawn a sense of contrived outrage from everyone of the right wing blow hard AM talk radio has to offer.
“New Yorker” Article Reveals that the U.S. Military is Conducting Operations Inside Iran *Video*
June 29, 2008
The upcoming July edition of the New Yorker features an article penned by Seymour Hersh that chronicles the “not so secretive” clandestine military operations currently taking place in Iran at the hands of United States military forces - which in every possible scenario is at the minimum a foreshadowing of a looming military conflict between Iraq’s neighbor, and the United States. Apparently special operations forces have been conducting cross-border operations launched from southern Iraq, with Presidential authorization, since sometime last year.
Welcome to “Hack Reporting 101″: Prof. O’Reilly Will Now Begin…
June 25, 2008
Here is one of the more amusing Bill O’Reilly video clips, although I am not sure anything could top his “Inside Edition” meltdown which so many of us enjoyed watching repeatedly. However this one is pretty damn good too, mainly because it focuses on O’Reilly’s absolute inability to grasp the reality of what he’s trying to report, as well as highlight how venomously partisan he really is.
Olbermann Surpasses O’Reilly in the Network News Ratings War
June 10, 2008
If you follow the site whatsoever then I am sure you are aware that I am really not into the whole ratings war currently being waged between the network giants (FOX, CNN, NBC). However I am quick to admit that I am no fan of FOX News, and by “no fan” I really mean - I hate the network and everything they represent. So whenever an opportunity does arise (unfortunately they are few and far between up until this point) too point out a drop in FOX News’ status, I am quick to put it out there front and center, and do so with a smile on my face.
Check Out TPM’s Latest McAullife Mashup: “Terrymania!”
May 15, 2008
We have chronicled the continuous string of proverbial insanity spun on the public courtesy of Hillary Clinton and her chief campaign cronies. From the “fuzzy math” to their never ending blame game strategy which has seen them attack the media, the voters, Obama himself, republicans, caucuses, liberal web sites, and just about everyone involved in any form with this primary, that is — besides Hillary Clinton.
