“It’s Almost Like They Take Pride in Being Ignorant”: Obama Strikes Back

August 5, 2008

This is the Barack Obama that Democrats, and more importantly – this country needs. Of course I am referring to Obama’s firing back of sorts during a campaign stop in Berea, Ohio. Barack Obama seemingly had heard enough, over the last week we have been inundated with a steady stream of garbage courtesey of the new and not so improved McCain/Rove machine.

Political Black Ops to the Extreme: “Lifelong” Gun-Control Advocate Outted as NRA Spy

August 5, 2008

The AP is reporting that a gun-control activist who championed the cause for more than a decade and served on the boards of two anti-violence groups is suspected of working as a paid spy for the National Rifle Association, and now those organizations are expelling her and sweeping their offices for bugs.

So the GOP Doesn’t Like “Celebrities” who Visit Europe, Speak Well & are Adored?

August 5, 2008

Here is a new ad coming from the Democrats which is aimed at pointing out the sheer hypocrisy, and down right baseless attacks that have been levied at Democratic hopeful Barack Obama over the last week or so. Specifically this spot takes on the notion that McCain and company have been pathetically attempting to peddle, which claims Obama is too much like a “celebrity”, and because of the high levels of adoration both here and abroad, that he is somehow disqualified or discredited too run the country. Oh how far this country has lowered it’s bar of expectations over the last eight years – clearly another Bush success story…

John McCain & Phil Gramm: Please Don’t Insult Us…

July 11, 2008

Well folks here is the highly anticipated video of former Senator Phil Gramm’s damning statement in which he calls American’s “whiners” in regards to their general view of our economy. The comments took place during a Washington Times editorial board meeting back on July the 9th.

Gramm has since refused to retract anything that he said during the editorial review meeting, and McCain initially stood by his new economic adviser (Gramm), however was forced to backtrack once the fallout began to pile up.

Anyways here is the video, and all I really want to say about it is Wow. I don’t want to beat a dead horse here, but if this had been an Obama person, the mainstream media would be having an all out field day with it -- unfortunately though Mccain is for the most part receiving another pass.

*Video* It’s That Time of Year Again: The Running of the Bulls in Pamplona, Spain

July 7, 2008

Get out those track shoes because it’s time to start running – that is if you are in Pamplona, Spain of course. Today marked the official “running of the bulls” kick off celebration which included, well, the first day of running with the bulls.

People took to the cobblestone streets earlier today, and while the usual chaos ensued (people getting trampled, grown men crying, etc) the injuries only hit a total of 13, with no goring’s reported, only minor nicks and scratches.

Here is video from today’s festivities, look closely at about the midway point and watch the spectators who thought they were safe from the action find out the hard way that they weren’t:

The Associated Press reports that the whole run took just over four minutes, which is a bit slow by the standards of Pamplona’s Fiesta de San Fermin, as the festival is known.

It was the first of eight scheduled runs. The most crowded ones will be next weekend, when the throngs of thrill-seekers will swell dramatically as people pour into Pamplona from out of town for two days of revelry and Adrenalin.

The fact that this year’s festival began on a Monday meant a lighter turnout.

“There were a few tense moments, but I think everything went quite well. There were fewer people than at other times,” said 29-year-old runner Aritz Lopez, from Bilbao.

Many of Monday’s participants wore traditional white trousers and shirts and red kerchiefs around their necks. They carried rolled-up newspapers – a tool for gauging how far away a charging bull is.

Before the sprint, local runners paid tribute to a beloved Pamplona native, Inaki Ochoa de Olza, a veteran mountain climber who died in the Himalayas in May. He also was a regular runner at San Fermin.

The running of the bulls became world famous with the publication of Ernest Hemingway’s 1926 novel “The Sun Also Rises” and also is known for its all-night street parties.

Since record-keeping began in 1924, 14 runners have died.

The last fatality from a goring was a 22-year-old American, Matthew Tassio, in 1995. In 2003, a 63-year-old Pamplona native, Fermin Etxeberri, was trampled in the head by a bull and died after spending several months in a coma.

On Sunday a young man died after falling 30 yards from an ancient wall that encircles the old quarter of Pamplona. Authorities identified him Monday as Aidan Holly, a 23-year-old from Ireland, and quoted friends as saying he had been drinking.

New Footage Better Illustrates Just How Bad Bush Got Heckled Yesterday in Monticello

July 5, 2008

President Bush was interrupted on several occasions by protesters who called him a fascist and war criminal during a 4 July celebration. At times the protesters (illustrated in the new footage attached below) seemed to be louder in terms of sheer volume, then Bush on the microphone.

Allan Colmes Shreds Karl Rove Over Gitmo: The Aftermath Includes Tears & Tantrum

July 4, 2008

Watch FOX’s Allan Colmes, one half of the widely popular “Hannity and Colmes” teach Karl Rove a lesson as though he was a dog who just peed on the new carpet. Personally I have always liked Colmes, and given the circumstances he is forced to work under night after night (the unfair balance of “liberal” and “conservative” guests, amongst many other improprieties), I don’t think he gets close to the credit he deserves for being the ONLY democrat minded talent on all of the FOX News network. ensue

Little baby Rove becomes so disgruntled that not only does he fail to make anything resembling a valid point, but also throws a temper tantrum which sheds a little light on how this guy really works in real life -- ya know, when not in front of a camera, or standing next to the President during a photo op.

Here’s the video, hope ya enjoy it as much as I did:

Watch David Axelrod Take CNN’s John Robert’s to the Woodshed

July 2, 2008

If you have ever wanted to see a CNN anchor get made a fool of then this is the video for you. Barack Obama campaign manager David Axelrod manages to make CNN’s John Roberts look utterly incompetent during a segment regarding Obama’s plans for troop withdrawals from Iraq.

This is just another example of the mainstream media totally distorting Barack Obama’s message, or in this case, policy plan. It is quite apparent too, this can be seen in Axelrod’s reaction to the Robert’s distortion of what Obama has said and is currently saying on the topic of Iraq, and American withdrawal from the region.

Watch Kid Rock & John Daly Team Up for the Buick Open Pro-Am: “Tee ‘em Up off Budweisers”

June 27, 2008

Watch John Daly hit a drive at Warwick Hills in Grand Blanc, Mich. off a 24 oz. can of Budweiser. Also notice his pro-am partner; Detroit’s own Kid Rock who transformed the Buick Open’s Pro-Am golf tournament into more of a “after party” like setting, then a golf outing. The pair of hell raisers had their fun day of fun this past Wednesday for the often snooze fest of a tournament.

Not this year though, this one will not be forgotten, and for good reason -- it actually made the sport exciting.

The Definition of a Lie: McCain Takes Credit for the GI Bill He Adamantly Opposed

June 27, 2008

It’s not often that politicians in this day and age blatantly go out, especially on the campaign trail, and lie – just flat out claim, suggest, or take credit for something, such as a piece of legislature or new initiative, etc. that they simply had no hand in, let alone voted against. But every once in a while we get something really good, for example – Hillary Clinton’s tall tale of “landing under sniper fire” was a great – “no you didn’t” moment. Well earlier today John McCain managed to one up all the others in regards to publicly lying through his teeth, and luckily for us, CNN was there to catch it on camera.
