Democrat Barack Obama blasted George W Bush’s decision to keep Iraq war troop levels largely unchanged, linking Republican rival John McCain to the unpopular president’s war policies as he tried to regain momentum in the presidential race.

Obama has seen his poll numbers in the race to become US president slide after McCain chose Alaska Governor Sarah Palin as his running mate. He has been on the defensive as the veteran Arizona senator seized on his rival’s central campaign theme of changing Washington and tried to make it his own. Read more

US police have arrested four people - one allegedly a white supremacist -over a possible plot to kill Barack Obama on Thursday night during his acceptance speech in Denver.

August 17, 2008

The 2008 Presidential contest between Senators Barack Obama and John McCain is officially, or as officially as a non scientific study can be, sitting amidst a virtual horse tie. Poll after poll shows this phenomena to be true, and one has to wonder why, with everything stacked in his favor, is Barack Obama unable to put any distance between him and his republican counterpart John McCain. We are going to look at the latest polls - both on a state by state basis, as well as a national perspective.

“1 in 14 Military Veterans Say They Support McCain”: How Can This be?

August 14, 2008

We now know that Senator John McCain, the man who perpetuates everything military (or at least he attempts too) seems to have a growing problem among military veterans - of all ages, rank and service. This began to surface months ago, and we began to see support for McCain, among former soldiers, diminish at a very high rate. Subsequently this began to shape into what we see today right around the time McCain adamantly refused to endorse and went as far as to speak out against the latest GI bill, which was co-sponsored by two other Vietnam veterans in the Senate, Republican Chuck Hagel of Nebraska and Democrat Jim Webb of Virginia.

The Best Comments From John McCain’s Website/Blog: “Classic Stuff”

August 12, 2008

Laughter does not describe what I have been through over the course of the last hour or so. Finding myself bored I decided to head over to John McCain’s website/blog and see what our friend had no clue what I was in for, “Old Man Walnuts” was up too. Seeing as though this was only my second time on his site, I had no clue what a good dose of old fashioned comedy I was in for.

“Say it Ain’t So”: FOX’s Chris Wallace Takes Hardline With McCain Advisor Rick Davis

August 11, 2008

We are making a policy of giving credit when credit is due, and this will be implemented across the board - regardless of who, or what is causing a stir for the right reasons. With that we are going to go ahead and tip our hat to FOX NEWS Sunday’s Chris Wallace for his interview with McCain campaign manager Rick Davis on his program which aired yesterday. Wallace did what so many of his coworkers on FOX simply refuse to do — break from the usual “script” of coddling anything on the “right”, while lambasting without regard anything coming from the “left”.

Let’s Look at Their Records: Obama & McCain’s Senate Votes

August 7, 2008

Night after night the mainstream media continue to parade McCain around as the “elder statesman” who has been around, and seen it all. While painting (both directly and indirectly) Barack Obama as the “risky choice” who has this election gift wrapped - while noting he is the only one that can lose it for himself. Within this narrative are a handful of reoccurring themes, with one of them being Obama’s short time in the U.S. Senate - subsequently making his politics “unknown.” All of this of course is a a joke which continues to show how sad the media and their reporting has come to in this day and age of “sensationalism over substance.”

Obama’s Surprise VP Selection: A Name that Hasn’t Been Mentioned…

August 7, 2008

There has been an abundance of chatter over the past month or so regarding whom each of the candidates will eventually choose as their running mates for the upcoming general election in November. The VP hopefuls are clear on the GOP side - you have Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty, Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour, Florida Governor Charlie Crist, Georgia Governor Sonny Purdue, every bodies favorite car salesman Mitt “Mittens” Romney, Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, etc, etc. The situation over on the Democratic side is quite the opposite, and many “experts” have almost backed off even making predictions as to whom Barack Obama will eventually choose as his running mate.
