New Reality Show Will Feature D.C. “Socialites”

This one should be something worth watching, that is for at least 10-15 minutes or so. I am talking about the new reality show in the makes which features Washington, DC “twenty somethings”, all females mind you, and what their day to day lifestyles that include boutiques, money, cars, money, and the usual petty bickering and talking behind each others backs.
Initially it was reported that MTV, Bravo, and the CW were all seriously considering picking up the show, however since the initial reports MTV has released a statement saying that they would not be pursuing the program.
Can you imagine LC in DC? Yes, we’re serious: there could be more uptalking socialites invading the airwaves. We’re told that the Hill’s version of “The Hills” is going to start shooting in the end of August, and that the Beltway babes could make the O.C.’s girls look, like, totally mild. Besides web consulting guru Katherine Kennedy, the names you may be hearing a lot more of are Sophie Pyle, and sisters Krista and Alexa Johnson — who all call themselves the “Blonde Charity Mafia” because of their philanthropy work.
No guys have been cast yet — but they’re “looking.” As for what these girls will be paid to have their lives exploited 24/7, we don’t know a dollar amount … but we’re told it’s “enough.”
The Blonde Charity Mafia? Wow, this should be interesting to say the least. There is an upside to all of this though, and that is the girls that will be featured are in fact gorgeous - which is always a nice touch, especially when there is absolutely no meaningful substance to their show.
Golf Icon Greg “The Shark” Norman Forced to Pay Ex-Wife $100 Million in Settlement
July 11, 2008
This story falls into the category of “making men cringe” nationwide. Legendary golfer, and course designer Greg “The Shark” Norman has been ordered by a judge to pay his wife a whopping $103 million dollars as part of their divorce settlement.
Norman has already dished out half the total amount and will be paying the rest in various forms over the next couple of years:
“A court filing reveals that the golfer — who took up with tennis bunny Chris Evert last year and married her recently — just forked over $50 mil to Laura Andrassy. And now, reports the Palm Beach Post, he has to give her $30 mil over the next 15 years, in addition to houses, jewelry, and other jack that totals over $20 million. Love costs!”
I don’t care how wealthy or famous you are - $103 million dollars is a huge chunk of change, an amount that would make any person sick to their stomach if they were forced to fork it over to their ex.
More Proof That Michael Jackson is the Creepiest Man Alive
July 10, 2008
As if anyone needed more proof that Jacko is in fact the creepiest man to ever walk this earth. That said take a look at MJ in all his glory as he receives a wheelchair ride in Las Vegas while decked out in a trucker hat babooshka, and his now infamous painter/ medical sanitation face mask.
Don’t worry though, clearly “Whacko Jacko” was comfortable. If you look closely you can see the every child’s worst nightmare is cozied up in his best set of pajama’s.
No one seems to know what MJ was up to in Vegas, or why he was in a wheelchair. But hey, with this guy, is anyone really surprised? Hopefully he just returns to his “Never Never Land” retreat (minus the children) and carries out his weirdness on his own time. That is if in fact the bank doesn’t foreclose on his estate.

*Video* It’s That Time of Year Again: The Running of the Bulls in Pamplona, Spain
July 7, 2008
Get out those track shoes because it’s time to start running - that is if you are in Pamplona, Spain of course. Today marked the official “running of the bulls” kick off celebration which included, well, the first day of running with the bulls.
People took to the cobblestone streets earlier today, and while the usual chaos ensued (people getting trampled, grown men crying, etc) the injuries only hit a total of 13, with no goring’s reported, only minor nicks and scratches.
Here is video from today’s festivities, look closely at about the midway point and watch the spectators who thought they were safe from the action find out the hard way that they weren’t:
The Associated Press reports that the whole run took just over four minutes, which is a bit slow by the standards of Pamplona’s Fiesta de San Fermin, as the festival is known.
It was the first of eight scheduled runs. The most crowded ones will be next weekend, when the throngs of thrill-seekers will swell dramatically as people pour into Pamplona from out of town for two days of revelry and Adrenalin.
The fact that this year’s festival began on a Monday meant a lighter turnout.
“There were a few tense moments, but I think everything went quite well. There were fewer people than at other times,” said 29-year-old runner Aritz Lopez, from Bilbao.
Many of Monday’s participants wore traditional white trousers and shirts and red kerchiefs around their necks. They carried rolled-up newspapers - a tool for gauging how far away a charging bull is.
Before the sprint, local runners paid tribute to a beloved Pamplona native, Inaki Ochoa de Olza, a veteran mountain climber who died in the Himalayas in May. He also was a regular runner at San Fermin.
The running of the bulls became world famous with the publication of Ernest Hemingway’s 1926 novel “The Sun Also Rises” and also is known for its all-night street parties.
Since record-keeping began in 1924, 14 runners have died.
The last fatality from a goring was a 22-year-old American, Matthew Tassio, in 1995. In 2003, a 63-year-old Pamplona native, Fermin Etxeberri, was trampled in the head by a bull and died after spending several months in a coma.
On Sunday a young man died after falling 30 yards from an ancient wall that encircles the old quarter of Pamplona. Authorities identified him Monday as Aidan Holly, a 23-year-old from Ireland, and quoted friends as saying he had been drinking.
Former “Bachelor” Star Andrew Firestone Marries Model Ivana Bozilovic
July 6, 2008
LOS OLIVOS, Calif. (AP) - “The Bachelor” is a bachelor no more. Andrew Firestone, star of the ABC-TV reality show, married Serbian model and actress Ivana Bozilovic Saturday, Firestone’s publicist Alisha Mahon told The Associated Press.
“We’re so happy right now, we can hardly stand it,” the couple said in a statement to Usmagazine.com, which first reported the nuptials.
Firestone and Bozilovic wed at St. Mark’s in the Valley Episcopal Church in Los Olivos, the central coast town where Firestone’s family winery is based.
Firestone’s 2003 proposal to Jen Schefft on the third season of “The Bachelor” was watched by millions and led to months of tabloid chatter afterward until the couple’s breakup.
His engagement to Bozilovic was announced in October.
Maxim Magazine Sits Down With MMA Superstar Tito Ortiz
July 4, 2008
Love him or hate him Tito Ortiz is one of MMA’s biggest draws. Fresh off his highly publicized fallout with UFC President Dana White, Ortiz sits down with Maxim Magazine and dishes on everything from what went down behind the scenes at UFC, his relationship with former porn star Jenna Jamison, and much more. Here is a portion of the interview, which is continued in the video attached below.
Was the last fight against Lyoto Machida your last fight in UFC? And will you continue to fight in another league?
It is 100 percent my last fight with UFC with Machida. And my career is going to move on, I think to do bigger and better things. I would like to sign with another company or start my own publishing company. I’m still fighting for another three or four more years maybe longer. There are Internet rumors suggesting that you might return to wrestling with either the TNA or WWE. Any truth to that?
I have three years of competition left, and I want to compete. Wrestling has always intrigued me so much. I started my career fighting, and I want to finish my career fighting. Wrestling, maybe when I’m 40. Those guys don’t compete at the same level we do, so it’s a little different.I’m not looking for an easy way out. What inspired you to get into mixed martial arts?
My book tells the story of how I became a fighter. I wrestled in high school and college. When I was in college, I started training with Tank Abbott, who was a UFC fighter. At a meet in 1997, I stopped a guy in 22 seconds, and was intrigued by the notion of becoming a martial arts competitor. Within a year and a half, I became a world champion. So nothing was ever given to me. I have never given up fights.MMA wasn’t very big up until several years ago. What do you think got you up toward the top of the list?
I’m still on top of the list, and what got me there was that I’m charismatic and I speak my mind. I am not just a fighter; I’m a businessman. I promote very well. There are fans that love me (I love you guys!), and there are fans that hate me. I have the entertainment value of a professional wrestler, but I have the reality value of a professional boxer. In 10 to 15 years, it took martial arts what it took boxing 100 years to do, because of the athletes that compete in it.If you could be involved in any other sport besides mixed martial arts, what would it be?
Professional wrestling. I have always been a fan of Hulk Hogan, Macho Man Randy Savage, and the Rock; and that’s what got me into wrestling in high school. I walked in, and I was like, “Where is the ring at?” I didn’t realize that collegiate wrestling was totally different from professional wrestling.Who taps out first in bed, you or your girlfriend Jenna Jameson?
Of course, me. Who wouldn’t tap out first to Jenna Jameson? She has actually come to work with me on my book tour. She is very supportive with me, and I am very supportive of her. She comes to all my fights, of course, and it is nice to have a girl who supports what I do.What motivated you to go over to Iraq to visit the soldiers?
I know a lot of families are missing their fathers, sons, and daughters because they are fighting the war for us. They give us the freedom to walk around the States freely. They are the ones sacrificing their lives, so the least I can do is bring them some recognition. A lot of people in the United States forget that we are still at war against terrorism. I support the troops 100 percent, and I think that it is time to bring them home. You always come to the cage wearing a T-shirt with one of your quotes. Do you regret any of them?
Every one of my T-shirts was a good one there was never one that didn’t work. There was one that I wasn’t going to do, but I did anyway: DANA IS MY BITCH.

A Clown’s Laughter Turns to Tears: “Bozo the Clown” is Dead
July 3, 2008
The man behind the magic, Larry Harmon, who is credited with making Bozo the Clown into the international superstar he was, and will always will be, died Thursday of congestive heart failure earlier this afternoon. Harmon of course wasn’t the original Bozo, but rather the man who built up the character to the celebritiy status that silly clown enjoyed over the past 20 years.
Harmon was also incredibly business savvy, he was responsible for the branding and the eventual licensing of “Bozo” to television stations across the country.
Larry Harmon was 83 years old.
