Talk about a bad start to the week, Rep. McHenry must be shaking his head and praying for it to stop. The Pentagon hastily informed North Carolina lawmaker Rep. Patrick McHenry, a Republican, late Tuesday night that he couldn’t re-air a video he’d shot in Baghdad after accusations surfaced that he breached operational security in detailing enemy rocket attacks. Leave it to a “flag waving, gun toting” Republican to publicly post a video from inside the green zone after a mortar attack. I would think a video of this nature would probably fall within the “not for public use” category, but heck what do I know. According to Pentagon reports:
The new criticism stems from a video that was featured on his Web site last Friday. Shot in the Green Zone, it showed McHenry gesturing to a building behind him and saying that one of 11 rockets hit just over my head.” Then he named two other places struck by the rockets.
On Monday, a veterans group called VoteVets.org accused McHenry of giving away intelligence information that could have aided terrorist organizations in targeting the Green Zone.
And then today Democrat, and house elder Barney Frank came down with an iron fist regarding McHenry’s breaking of the rules as he repeatedly attempted to implement an amendment in a situation when it was simply not allowable given the specific circumstances. The clip below shows the stuttering McHnery being taken to school in what has to be this guys “worst week ever.“
This was just another notch on Patrick McHenry’s “controversy” belt when dealing with this this weeks happenings, for it was McHenry whom was already simmering in the “are you kidding me” kettle after his GOP political opponent, military attorney Lance Sigmon of Newton, NC, posted a You Tube clip of the lawmaker telling local Republicans about his unsuccessful efforts to get into the gym in the Green Zone. McHenry said he was shut out by a two-bit security guard.”
In that same speech, McHenry gave actual distances of how close the rockets came to hitting the building that lawmakers were sleeping in.
Sigmon, an Air Force veteran, called McHenry’s actions absolutely reprehensible.”
Obviously one of the reasons I’m running is I’m trying to restore maturity, decency and integrity back to the seat in Washington ,” he said in an interview.
Smooth move all star… I mean how stupid can someone be that they would basically lay out a visual grid for the terrorists lobbing the mortars via streaming video. Doesn’t this moron remember the whole Geraldo escapade back in 2003? And another thing, I really think you should spend less time in the gym and more time reading the procedural rules and regulations that govern Congress, you know, the body of government you were elected too.
