Doug Feith, Faces the Fire For His Part in Constructing the Faux Iraq War Rational

One of the original Iraqi War masterminds, Douglas Feith is, well, to put it politely - not well liked around many in and around the beltway of Washington D.C. Former commanding officer of US troops in Iraq, General Tommy Franks, once referred to Feith as the; stupidest f*cking guy on the planet,” which when you consider the fact this insult is coming from the mouth of a four star general who has spent the majority of his adult life in the disciplined setting of military life and order, you realize how bad Mr. Feith must be.
Like I said earlier, Feith is not liked, and that’s a nice way of putting it. Upon his departure from the Bush administration Feith accepted a job at his alma mater Georgetown as a lecturer within the highly regarded law program. This was short and sweet for Feith — apparently a sizable group of fellow ‚ÄòHoya professors became uncomfortable with the idea of having Doug Feith, a poster boy for horrendous policy decision making, and implementation teaching on topics relating to the national security policy, using the Bush administration as the overriding model. Well, to make a long story short, Feith was “let go” from his position at Georgetown.
Fast forward to this past Monday, which was the night that Douglas “the stupidest f*cking guy on the planet” Feith decided to make an appearance on Jon Stewart’s “The Daily Show,” with the intentions of shilling his new book (wow talk about misreading your likely customer demographics). However I am quite certain that things didn’t play out as well as Feith may have been hoping them too. Watch as Feith stumbles, and stammers through a barrage of tough (yet fair, and quite frankly, necessary) questions from Stewart who really puts Feith’s true colors (neo-con red) out there for all to see.
Here is quote plucked from the exchange by our friends at Crooks and Liars, and I thought it was permanent to include solely on the basis that Stewart really hits the ball out of the park, managing to sum up a large section of the Iraq debacle with this single statement:
You removed the ability for the American public to make an informed decision. Once you have removed that, then you no longer have the authority. You told us what part of the argument is appropriate to know about.”
I have never liked Feith, this was true before, during, after, the Iraqi invasion. Feith would creep around, always staying in the background, occasionaly making brief statements, which upon viewing made him look like even more of a snake in the grass. But when you really think about it, that is the description of nearly every single Bush administration official, especially those with him his first term, the ones like Feith who helped construct a war on lies and calculated mistruths.
Douglas Feith, this interview successfully showed what a bumbling idiot he is when he doesn’t have the luxury of hiding away behind closed doors in the Pentagon — crafting a “war on terror,” that both he and those around him, those also making decisions and making recommendations knew was nothing more then a personal vendetta with a lucrative business opportunity to boot. This folks is just another reason stacked among the laundry list we have to elect a Democrat next November.
