If Hillary Were to Steal the Nomination, Revenge Would Be Widespread

This is completely hypothetical in the sense that it is very unlikely to actually happen, to tell you the truth, it’s more impossible then unlikely when you look at the raw numbers. That said, it’s interesting to think about how things would play out in Washington if in fact Hillary managed to steal the nomination from Senator Barack Obama (who in all reality has this thing locked up). It’s no secret that the Clinton’s have one way of dealing with those who cross them, and that is with a damning retaliation often aimed at crippling their political career. That said, can you imagine the long list of statesmen who would fall victim to Hillary’s “hell have no fury” retribution:

The Georgetown dinner parties they rarely attended during the Bill years might as well be in Outer Mongolia for all President Hillary will care. Notables who abandoned her for Obama will get the Big Chill. “He’s dead to us,” a Clinton aide was quoted saying of John Kerry, who along with Ted Kennedy was turned off by the perception of race baiting that led up to the South Carolina primary. A major donor, conflicted between the two candidates and apologetic over his backing of Obama, found Hillary less than sympathetic. “Too bad for you, because I’m going to win,” she snapped.

With all of this resonating below the surface, there seems to be another baffling trend playing out in this primary contest. That is Hillary is beginning to align herself with a handful of unlikely characters, both in the political spectrum and in the mainstream media:

She has won grudging respect in some unlikely quarters. Conservative commentators Pat Buchanan and Joe Scarborough are openly rooting for her, and Tony Blankley, who first gained notoriety as Newt Gingrich’s spokesman, confessed somewhat sheepishly, “She’s almost beginning to appeal to me.” This is a stunning development given Blankley’s long and storied history as a Hillary hater.

This is not surprising when you come to terms with the reality of Hillary’s willingness to do anything it takes to win, there is no low to low for her to stoop, and for many Democrats who used to revere Bill and Hillary, this has been quite an eye opening experience into what the “first family” of the Democratic party, for the last 15 plus years, are really all about.

It is important however to keep in mid when reading this that the chances of Hillary actually winning the nomination are slim to none, with slim packing the van ready to make his exit. Heck, this vindictive streak in Clinton could serve as all the more reason for super delegates to come out and continue to strengthen Barack Obama’s already dominating infrastructure of political muscle.
