Huckabee Can’t Win the Nomination So He Decides To Attack…Obama?

Earlier today in a rather surprising twist, Mike “I am refusing to drop from a race I can’t win” Huckabee decided to by-pass arguing why he was better then his current opponent, Sen. John McCain, instead opting too attack Barack Obama. The former Arkansas governor has become all but a irrelevant “hanger on” in the GOP presidential primary, however this would not stop the devout “god-man“. Huckabee decided to go fiscal, and went after the Senator from Illinois, Barack Obama, for ideas he says would cost Americans $287 billion.

I hear Barack Obama say that he’s going to provide everybody with health care and college tuition and pave the streets with gold,” Huckabee said to laughter from the crowd, the proposals he’s put on the table so far, already are going to cost about $287 billion dollars, so far. Now that’s a lot of money.”

And then in true “Huckster form”, you know the witty, lovable, ex-obese, Arkansan we have all come to love tossed in his two cents on the current situation in Iraq:

What we don’t know how to figure out is how much will it cost us when we walk away and leave Iraq in a mess and the Middle East blows up, how much will that cost?” added Huckabee.

One theory into why Huckabee is publicly attacking the Democrat front runner when he has virtually no chance of receiving his parties nomination is because he saw what McCain did yesterday, in attacking Obama’s comment on Al Queda in Iraq, which subsequently drew a response from the Illinois Democrat. Basically I am saying that Huckabee is just hoping, scratch that, praying, that Obama will respond to him so that he will be back in the news cycle, because as of right now he has become quite irrelevant to the race.

More importantly, Huckabee who appears to have transformed into a fiscal debutant of sorts, would really be helpful in explaining the benefits the United States is receiving from the $497,992,761,374 we have spent on the war and occupation of Iraq. Clearly he would had have an answer, I mean he is the same guy who claimed he would amend the United States Constitution to meet “Gods Standards“, that in itself shows this guy has a firm grasp on the political system. I’m joking, I really think the guy should stop wasting his donors money, running a race he has no chance of winning, and save some face, drop out, and go back to whatever it is that he came from.
