Both the Edwards and Clinton camps have confirmed that after last nights debate Hillary Clinton and John Edwards retreated to the former North Carolina Senators Green Room where they talked privately for about 20 minutes with the door shut and no campaign staff, or other members of their entourage gaining entrance to the room.
According to eyewitnesses, they both walked out of their green rooms after the debate and agreed to talk, then went behind closed doors in Edward’s green room.Clinton left 20 minutes later. No word on the subject matter, but as Edwards struggles in the polls with no wins to date, his post-campaign strategy is surely in the air.
Many insiders are confident that John Edwards will be dropping from the race a lot sooner than he is leading people to believe, and that he will eventually give his endorsement to Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton. This may be come across as surprising to some, being as though Edwards and Obama seemingly had forged somewhat of a tag team in their attacks on Hillary. But Edwards and Clinton have know one another for a very long while, and with Bill lobbying as well it would be hard for Edwards, a Clinton era Democrat to not side with Hillary. However all this could be nothing more then a simple chat on either a policy, media activity, or just plain old chit chat between old friends. You can bet Sen. Barack Obama was curious as to what was being conversed about between his two opponents, I would imagine he was very leery of the closed door encounter.
