FOX News Caught Making Phony Profiles On My.BarackObama.com…

The Barack Obama camp released the following statement regarding FOX News’ juvenile, and painfully unprofessional actions which they participated in throughout Monday afternoon. Apparently, today was a slow news day. So Fox News evidently decided to pore through our millions of user-created pages on My.BarackObama.com and put a screenshot of inflammatory content on the front page of FoxNews.com. You see, more than 700,000 people have created accounts on the system. You can create one right now if you choose, in about a minute — anyone can. Now, from time to time people get up to no good, creating fake profiles (like one for Sean Hannity created today), or posting profane or inappropriate content. When they do, the community reports the offending content and if it violates the site’s terms of service it is removed (as the Sean Hannity profile was).

My.BarackObama.com has been at the core of our bottom-up organizing strategy. The tools available have been put to work by a community of supporters that is bigger and more powerful than anything presidential politics has ever seen. Evidently, Fox News didn’t think it was a big deal that hundreds of thousands of ordinary Americans are participating in the democratic process creating groups and local events in communities all across the country.

But they did think it was a big deal that one random person on the Internet, without the knowledge of the Obama campaign, posted a profile in the system with the image of the New Black Panther Party on it (which we now know Sean Hannity created as some sort of ploy, or ‘gotcha’ spectacle.) That being said, FOX News is still running the story off their home page. Wow, what a class act good ‘ole Rupert has going on over there, huh? An update shows that FOX News has removed the story from the site, basically saying, “ya, you guys caught us.”

Below is an example of what FOX attempted to do throughout the day, although this example has a little different feel to it, check it out for yourself, I can’t really explain it:

As each day passes the “big plan” which FOX News is attempting to put into motion is to straight up slander Senator Barack Obama’s character and candidacy. They hellbent on portraying Obama as a black vigilant. This, after his speech yesterday in which he sought to begin an honest and healing discussion of race relations in our country. It is disgusting that Fox would stoop this low, however it doesn’t come as a total surprise that they would resort to something of this nature, they have consistently lowered the bar and proven that trash journalism can become “ratings gold.”

Barack Obama and everyone involved with his campaign deserves, and should be pounding their fists demanding, an apology from Faux News.
