Ethel Kennedy Endorses Barack Obama

Ethel Kennedy, the sweetheart wife of the late, great Bobby Kennedy has come forward and given her endorsement to Senator Barack Obama. Ethel, who knew Bobby Kennedy better then anyone in this world wrote a touching piece in which she compares the greatness that she currently sees in Obama to the very qualities which Bobby Kennedy, her late husband, embodied:

“Barack is so like Bobby, who struggled for the rights of the poor in the Mississippi Delta and Appalachia, traveled to California to stand in solidarity with Cesar Chavez and farm workers and fought to end another war that cost so many lives.
Today, we crave a leader with vision who can help us regain our lost humanity and rekindle our inherent generosity. With courage, caring and charisma, Senator Obama is leading us toward a kinder, gentler world.

Senator Obama’s candidacy sends out “ripples of hope” that can build a “current which can sweep down the mightiest walls of oppression and resistance.” I am proud to support Barack Obama, and look forward to him leading this country toward a brighter, more hopeful future.”

With February 5th looming, and Obama seemingly surging I cannot help but ask myself that if he had just one more week, a week to get his message out there, a message that anyone who has been in his presence claims is so powerful that holding back tears becomes somewhat of a task, a little more time and I think he would walk away the unanimous victor. However the reality is that he doesn’t have a week, he only has three days. And over the next three days Barack Obama will continue to press on, getting his message out to the voters while continuing to garnish support among Democrats, Independents, and like minded Republicans, and I will be saying my prayers that those three days will be enough to carry him through February 5th as the eventual Democratic candidate for the United States of America.
