Detroit’s Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick finds himself fighting the headlines yet again, and this time the charges are a lot more serious then a couple of XXX rated text messages. Earlier today the Detroit media learned that a former employee for the Detroit Police Department has sworn in an affidavit that she remembered exotic dancer Tamara Greene filing a police report claiming that Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick’s wife, Carlita, had assaulted her during a party at the mayor’s residence. According to the report, Carlita had witnessed Greene touching the mayor in an inappropriate way, left the room and came back with a wooden object and began assaulting her.Greene allegedly danced at the rumored Manoogian Mansion party. She was later shot and killed in 2003 and the homicide remains unsolved.
Greene family attorney Norman Yatooma said this new sworn affidavit proves that the Manoogian party was not “urban legend.” And with great confidence proclaims that; “The affidavit is nuclear” The affidavit from former Detroit homicide Lt. Alvin Bowman was filed as part of the federal lawsuit. The lawsuit alleges Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick and members of the city’s police department tried to block the investigation.
