Clinton and Obama in a Statistical Dead Heat

The Gallup Poll Daily tracking data show Hillary Clinton is sitting with 46% and Barack Obama closing in with 44% in the polls. These two are basically in a statistical dead heat in national Democratic voters’ preferences for the nomination.

Along with the Gallup Poll seen above countless other polls were flooded into the media today so thanks to Josh Marshall here are the ones that look to hold the most credibility. Remember these are national polls for all the remaining states, not just the “Super Tuesday” states:
  • ABC/WaPo: Clinton 47%, Obama 43%
  • Pew: Clinton 46%, Obama 38%
  • NYT/CBS: Clinton 41%, Obama 41%
  • USAToday/Gallup: Clinton 45%, Obama 44%

It will be especially interesting to see if there is any bump in Obama’s numbers from the events which took place today. Mainly the Maria Schriver endorsement combined with the Oprah, Caroline Kennedy, Michelle Obama, and Stevie Wonder rally which took place in LA. I really do not remember another time where there was this much hype behind an election, and when it comes down to it the youth deserves a lot of credit for energizing this thing to what it has grown into. I mean it really feels like a prizefight almost, anyways I like it, I am excited, and Tuesday can’t come soon enough.
