Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad Claims to Have Met w/U.S. Officials in Iraq *Video*

TEHRAN (AFP) – Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said he met two military commanders from US-led forces on his trip to Iraq in March and that they even took souvenir pictures to commemorate the encounter. His claims were published on Saturday in reformist newspapers and the conservative Jomhouri Eslami, which said the comments came in a speech he made over a month ago that was first broadcast by state television late on Wednesday.

Iran Sends Message in the Form of Test Firing: “We Will Retaliate”

TEHRAN, Iran – Iran test-fired nine missiles Wednesday, including ones capable of hitting Israel, making a dramatic show of its readiness to strike back if the United States or Israel attacks it over its nuclear program. The launches sparked strong U.S. criticism and a jump in oil prices, underlining fears Iran might seal off the Strait of Hormuz, the Gulf waterway through which 40 percent of the world’s crude passes, if military conflict does break out.
