TalkingPointsMemo.com is reporting that Senator Barack Obama is currently enjoying a nice little bump in poll numbers since he officially was declared the Democratic nominee early last week. The latest polls clearly show Obama moving from a tie with John McCain (the scenario just one week ago) to a new found six-point lead both of the major national Presidential polls.
Here are the numbers as released in the latest wave of polling:
- Gallup (margin of error: ±2%)
(D) Barack Obama: 48%
(R) John McCain: 42%
- Rasmussen (margin of error ±4%)
(D) Barack Obama: 50%
(R) John McCain: 44%
So will Obama be able to take this “bum” and build on it, or will John McCain close the gap, bringing the race back to the virtual tie it was just one week ago today. That my friends will be the best sign at whom is looking to bring home the big win come November.
