Detroit Red Wings to Play the Chicago Blackhawks in the NHL’s “Winter Classic”

This is music to Red Wing fans ears, I am of course talking about the announcement that the Detroit Red Wings (my favorite sports franchise to say the least) will be playing the Chicago Blackhawks (the city I live in) on New Years day in the NHL’s second “Winter Classic”.

The contest will take place at the Chicago Cubs home, Wrigley Field, and will undoubtedly be huge to for hockey fans everywhere, seeing as though these two are part of the NHL’s “Original Six”.

“According to a knowledgeable source, it’s official. The NHL’s second outdoor Winter Classic will take place New Year’s Day at the storied Wrigley Field when the Blackhawks take on the Stanley Cup-champion Detroit Red Wings.

An announcement is expected next week in the days leading up to the three-day inaugural Blackhawks Convention” at the Chicago Hilton.”
